Enhanced IB Security Now Available
First Option now offers you One Time Passwords (OTP) via Security Token, 3G mobile phone or SMS message. This is true “second factor” security, as you enter a random number each time you log in to Internet Banking (IB).
You can choose to receive your OTP via:
- Security Token – a small electronic device that attaches to your key ring.
- 3G mobile phone – similar to Security Token, except you can view your OTP using a special application on your iPhone or other 3G mobile
- SMS message – OTP is sent to your mobile phone.
Members not registered for OTP’s will have reduced transfer limits
OTP’s are the best way to protect your funds online and greatly reduce the likelihood of online fraud. Therefore, Members who use OTP’s will have a daily external transfer limit of $5,000 on their main transaction account. However, from 3 May 2010, Members who do not have OTP’s will have their external transfer limit reduced to $500 per account per day.
To register for OTP’s log into IB, go to 'Preferences' and choose 'Token/SMS Security'. (If you are not registered for IB, click here.) You are then given two options, register for 'Security Tokens' (includes 3G phone option) or 'SMS One Time Passwords'. Once you choose your preferred option, just follow the steps...
And if you have any questions, or need help with the registration process, please call us on 1300 855 675.
Fee applies for replacement Security Token.
