The Telephone Betting and Bet (Branch) Input Devices - TBID and BID.

TBID under test at Ultimo - 1971.

(from right) The desk panel labelled 'TAB' was the operator access to the L.M. Ericsson supplied ACD (automatic call distributor). Immediately above is shown the TBID audit roll printer. The small covered panel is a cigarette ash tray. The AWA supplied TBID is in front of the operator. From the top left: LED status lights, six sets of NIXI tubes showing data as entered by the operator, five reset buttons for the NIXI tubes, printed input code prompts, two sets of data input buttons with the primary numeric entry under the operator's hand.

Harry Trick, an AWA Ltd executive, plays a customer for TAB staff member June Thomas nee Crossley. The device had many similarities to the TBID using LED and NIXI tube displays. The BID ticket printer was housed under the stainless steel panel to the right of the BID.
