Beware of phone scams
First Option members are reminded to be aware of the latest phone scam currently doing the rounds.
Customers are called by people, claiming to be from their financial institution, stating that the customer's account has been overcharged. The caller then states that their details will be passed on to the Office of Fair Trading, however they require further personal information, such as your date of birth.
If you receive a suspicious call from someone claiming to be from your financial institution, do not give them any of your personal information. Hang up the phone and inform your financial institution of the details.
Members are advised that the team at First Option will never contact you asking you to supply your personal details, such as account or card numbers, as we already have this information.
